Day17 and Day 18 Trees

I do really like painting trees...such an important part of a landscape too. So its important for me to move around from simply studying horses that are "oh so difficult" to not only get moving correctly but actually look like a horse!    I was sketching a little group of trees and decided to paint this today, simplying the sketch with appyling the paint...the trees in the background appeared in the brushstrokes on their own.  It has
lots of color and movement; the trunks behind compliment the tree in the foreground and the lichen is swaying in the breeze.

This is a success for me as I can see myself standing sketching this in the paint - its not just a photographic reproduction.  Just adding this thought later - I like to change directions often so that I can look at my horses and see where I need to improve, where I need to go next..
