Standardbred Art Day 10

Had artists block until really late tonight.  Firstly as its Saturday,  I usually blog about UK racing.  It was from Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, home to the Breeders Cup of Jump racing in March each year.. so I was absorbed listening to this, I'll watch the replays perhaps tomorrow.  But I couldn't think of much, and the horses that ran, I'll just follow to see how they'll do the day after Christmas...its called Boxing Day in the UK.  Boxing Day is a major shopping day for sales, but also is a major sporting day historically since Queen Victoria's reign, and literally was given this name, because of boxing tournaments.  Its my favourite day.   As a child we would annually go up to the Downs and watch the point to point races (which is basically the same as Jump racing, except for the fact that there are amateur riders and horses that often try move up the ladder to the National Hunt Rules of Jump Racing.

Standardbred Racehorse, pen and wash

I decided to do a simple pen and wash drawing exercise using the wrong writing/drawing hand.  Try it at home and you'll see how difficult it is to do...  Was wondering if it was worthy of posting but I actually I like it.  Doing this kind of drawing is helpful in loosening up the line drawing, and can create a more contemporary piece of art.  I can also develop this further using color.
