This is,for the most part, Standardbred Art and I hope you will enjoy reading about my work as a Standardbred Artist. If I can raise awareness of the beauty of the Standardbred Racehorse then I am achieving my goal. Thanks for visiting.....Sarah

Standardbred Art: My Valentine
I think this painting about daily life of a Standardbred Racehorse in art is just about finished now.. I have just brought the girl in the painting forward so there is a nice balance in the painting and also creates a triangle linking the background figure to the guy kissing his horse emphasized by the vertical posts receding with perspective. This technique was used brilliantly by Paolo Uccello, in his "The Hunt in the The Forest", that I posted a last week...try to take a look. This painting also reminds me of a Dutch 17th Century painter called Meindert Hobbema, who was renowned as the master of perspective: His painting "Avenue at Middelharnis" was painted in 1689 and I remember thinking about this painting when I started creating my painting, it has the track similar ruts and the figure in the distance! I have only just pulled the image today, so its interesting to see that my memory is still functioning on some level!
