Have been busy looking at the subjects for my next two paintings. I've just started a painting that is quite complex, with perspective and light and several horses in it. I started with an idea that I put very crudely down in my sketchbook and it is coming on nicely. Above is one starting point sketch, ...followed by a rough drawing on canvas below. As I go along I change quite a lot, I've had to move the horse in the foreground forward, to lead the viewers eye in to the painting and removed the jogging cart for now...it may appear somewhere else later or I may go back to my first idea (the posts will also be corrected to stand straight!)
