Kauto Star
Occasionally I may digress back to what started my love for racing: British Steeplechase Racehorses. Yesterday, I watched a truly great horse win a race at Haydock Park in England. His name is Kauto Star. A few years ago I saw him in his prime win the Cheltenham Gold Cup for the third time and it
was a magnificent sight. Cheltenham, is fantastic place for racing enthusiasts, its invaded by the Irish horses and punters, all trying to take the cup back home.. I recommend going. It's the British equivalent of the Breeders Cup or the The Red Mile in October, for the best Steeplechasers/hurdlers in the world.
Kauto is 11 years old, he has won probably nearly 2million UKpounds for his owner and yesterday he beat all of his younger rivals... He has the greatest irish jockey on board too..Ruby Walsh. Watch him and you'll see the perfect partnership between man and horse. He loves that horse more than any other horse he's ever ridden. Whenever another Jockey gets on board (if Ruby is injured) the horse doesn't go well. I'm going to paint the two horses...Kauto Star and his stable companion and Gold cup winner Denman. Denman is incredible too. He had heart surgery and came back to racing and won a huge race the Hennessy Gold Cup in Newbury - incidentally this race is next saturday...that was an amazing day for racing too.
The race is worth watching on the replay. I saw it on sportinglife.com
