The Breeders Cup Trophy

Just a quick blog...looking forward to this race
especially to see how my fellow countrymen
across the pond do...The race I'll be watching
will be the breeders cup turf...European
horses are all great St Nicholas Abbey
Midday and Sea Moon with the Aga Khan's Sarafina.
Out of the three, I think Sea Moon has been prepped for this big
race.  Michael Stoute seems to know how to win in the US.
However I love Midday too, and Henry Cecil is the Greatest Trainer,
so would love this horse to win for him.

The Breeders’ Cup Trophy is the finest I've ever seen....it is a bronze reproduction of the part of University of Edinburgh's Torrie collection and is known as "the Torrie" Horse.  The original was created by Giovanni da Bologna (also known as Giambologna) in the 16th Century.    His original works of art are the most desirable of all Italian sculptors.  He was a genius of his craft and they cost hundreds of thousands of US dollars to purchase today.  I never think the owners really appreciate that trophy as they are never told anything about it!
